A website "Journey to Zero" is dedicated to the application an concept of a "zero-emission mobility".
My first impression of this website was spectacular. Everything is smooth and easy to navigate. Their color scheme was smart in that they didn't use the cliche green to convey the idea of an eco-friendly car. The first page is the explanation of their journey or mission combined with a translucent pop-up/transition menu screen that scrolls and gives you the option to look at more information about their Collaborations, Perspectives, About and Contest.
Clicking the "next" tab takes you to a youtube video that is a another multimedia project that talks about the insights, inspirations and ideas that are the backbone of the project. One small feature that I actually loved was how the previous and next tabs show you how many "pages" there are. It says, 2/3, or 1/2, etc so the viewer isn't scrolling and wondering how far they're getting into the project.
I think using flash and these interactive techniques was entirely proper to use especially for this project that is all about the technology that makes things like a zero-emissions car possible.
The "loading" bar is actually a yellow bar that wraps around the logo of the entire site. Very clean, very clever.
Several projects within this website have the option to listen to audio, watch a video, etc.
The graphics are clear, the links and transitions are interactive and smooth. I can't imagine how long it took to put together this site.
The ONLY negative critique I would have would be that it's a bit "busy"... however, a lot of content doesn't bother me- it's actually interesting. But, for some, having to play around on a pretty movement based website could be a little daunting.
Basically, I love this site. I could click around on it all day. There is so much material to look at and it makes the concept of an eco-friendly car much more interesting to people who may not normally be interested in such a story.
